At the beginning of this year, I wanted to build my portfolio. To do this, I had to have great pictures (duh). I am soooo grateful that I found Becca Lea Photography! Becca took these pictures for me and has since become a dear friend. Our little family has fallen in love with her and her husband, Seth. Literally, my son won’t get off of his lap when they come for dinner!
Anyways, let’s talk about this shoot! I wanted to showcase a more colorful style of design. Cinco de Mayo was kind of my inspiration. My real inspiration, though, was my model, Kim! These flowers perfectly encompass everything that is Kim. She is a wild and free spirited woman with tons of energy! She just had the most beautiful little girl. No surprise when mamma is this beautiful, right?
We shot this in an open warehouse in Lubbock, Texas. It is owned by Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts (LHUCA). The exposed brick and natural light were perfect (obviously). I love the contrast of white on the bright colors of the flowers.
My favorite thing about this shoot, though, are these rings! They remind me of the Olympics, which is fun, but they are so unique, feminine, and whimsical. These wreaths would be perfect for any event, really. While we were shooting them, we thought they would be cute for newborn photo shoots!
Let me know what you think about this color combination. Is this something you would use for an event?
