To say I’m excited to share this shoot with you is an understatement. I met Aric and Casey almost a year ago and have fallen in love with their work and their personalities. All of their pictures from this shoot are stunning! I wanted to take a different approach to this post and share all about each vendor… and a ton of pictures.
Aric was the mastermind behind hunting down this amazing venue! When Casey, Aric, and I initially met to brainstorm this shoot, we knew we wanted an industrial look. Sophia’s Place is a new venue in Lubbock and I am so glad it opened in time for us to do this shoot! The exposed brick, concrete floors, and beautiful windows couldn’t have been more perfect.
They also have large, stunning chandeliers hanging from the ceilings. The bride and groom suites worked great for our models to get ready in and the kitchen came in handy while we were there all day!
Working with Aric and Casey was such an honor! Meeting vendors in the industry that are down to earth is so important to me. It’s also a breath of fresh air to have a vendor understand the demands of parenthood and connect on a real-life level. Aric is hilarious, committed to his work, and pretty handy! He built the table and the geometric arch for this shoot! Casey is so kind and chill. She and Aric work great together bouncing ideas off of each other and tag-teaming taking photos. Their attention to detail goes without saying and they are both so charming. I left the shoot wishing we were best friends.
One of my dear friends, Gina Smart, created the invitations and rsvp cards and she totally knocked them out of the park! They matched perfectly with Arrindell Calligraphy‘s envelopes, place settings, and other beautiful calligraphy details. Kylie isn’t local to Lubbock, but was so gracious and willing to participate from Austin. I mean, seriously. I am still drooling over her work.
If you are a Lubbock local (and even if you aren’t) you know all about Evie Mae’s BBQ. Did you know they have a bakery? Did you know they cater events? Did you know they created this awesome cake? Aubrie from Evie’s Mae’s will kill me for using her name in the post, but it’s worth the risk to let everyone know how stinking talented she is! She designed this cake and I am completely in awe. She and Mallory (co-owner) of Evie Mae’s work closely together on recipes for the bakery. Their treats aren’t just delicious, but beautiful, too!
Kristina. Kristina. Kristina. I swear to you, she is the most beautiful woman I have met in real life. Unedited. Natural. True beauty. When we were planning the shoot, I couldn’t get her out of my head. I knew she had the perfect look and style for this shoot. What do you know? She was absolutely the perfect pick and totally rocked her first modeling gig! She is just as kind as she is beautiful. She’s charming, funny, easy-going, and so patient. I loved getting to know her for this shoot and am so glad she agreed to help us!
Amber and Nosa were an easy “yes” for me when Aric suggested them. Their love is so apparent and their chemistry is unmatched! They are both so kind and easy-going while taking direction from the photographers. It helps that they are both really pretty, too!
Malouf’s provided some really nice pieces for Nosa to wear and Aric captured the little details perfectly!
Robert Lance Jewelers is the best place in Lubbock to buy jewelry! Becky, one of the fabulous owners, worked closely with me to choose the perfect pieces for our models! My favorite piece is the necklace Kristina wore. Nosa’s watch was masculine and beautiful all at the same time.
Finding the perfect person to do hair and make-up was a no brainer. Lindsey Sharp is the queen of making people beautiful. In the case of our shoot, she made beautiful people into goddesses! She works out of the Hello Gorgeous studio, which is in a charming shopping center called Cactus Alley. Lindsey makes you feel welcome the minute you sit in her chair. I love getting my hair done by her and have seen her charm working with children, too. She. Rocks.
Working with this team was so fun and with our powers combined, we really made something fabulous. Designing and styling this shoot was an exciting challenge!
