How can I possibly sum up such a wonderful day? How can I possibly sum up such a wonderful bride?? Deanna was my biggest cheerleader and support all along the way. She was a dream to work with, and I think you’ll agree that her wedding was a dream come true!
First, I had to include a shot of their fun program. Let’s take a moment and catch up on what led to “THE BEST DAY OF OUR LIVES!”
It all started at a Texas Tech basketball game in 2015 where they met through mutual friends. After three years of lots of laughter and love, Jeff took her to another Texas Tech game. Only this time it was at Madison Square Gardens in New York City, and the real surprise came before the game even started. Jeff took Deanna to Central Park and proposed! She said yes! That’s where the story of this beautiful wedding celebration really takes off.
I met with Deanna a year before her wedding. She wanted a bold and colorful concept without looking flashy. She also wanted the day to reflect her hispanic heritage with fun fiesta vibes. Her bouquet is definitely bold and colorful but we kept some soft pastels and deep tones to add a soft elegance.
The bridal party perfectly showcased Deanna’s amazing color scheme. Each bridesmaid had her own unique style and the colors stand out individually, yet blend together beautifully.
With all these beautiful people, it was my job to create a backdrop to frame them centerstage at the ceremony. The softness of the draped fabric with the large arrangements on the pergola made a big statement. Check out that first kiss as husband and wife…
So. Much. Joy.
Time for their reception at Eberly Brooks! We took Deanna’s vision and transformed the space from top to bottom. Literally. Check out the hoops of smilax hanging from the ceiling. The light from the chandeliers shining through them was heavenly. I’m lucky that was the only heavenly light I saw that day. The ladders to hang these were every bit as enormous as you’d imagine. Phew!
Deborah Faith Photography gets all the credit for these amazing images I’m showcasing today. We’ve worked together on a number of projects and I’m so lucky to call her a friend. I absolutely love her! She has a talent for making people feel comfortable. I’ve watched her capture some of the most genuine and real moments for her couples. You can totally see it with Deanna and Jeff!
Planning a wedding as gorgeous as this one takes a lot of work. I asked Deanna to share any advice she might have for future brides and she had three great ideas!
- “Cut yourself some slack. I know it’s hard to get lost in the Instagram world and want all of these things, but at the end of the day you’re wedding day is going to be awesome no matter what.”
- “ENJOY your guests, we had people fly in from all over the country and it really made me realize how loved we are.”
- “Have time for you and your significant other. The small moments where it was just Jeff and I were the ones I will recall the most.”
