This Christmas is a really exciting one for my little family. We’ve decided not to travel, but to spend Christmas in our own home waiting for Santa to come in our own beds. Every other Christmas has revolved around our extended families. While we love being with them, we wanted to try our hand at spending it with our little family and friends.Staying home means that I get to host Christmas dinner! I’m so excited and ready to share my tablescape plans with you! I love this, because it is really simple, affordable, and practical. My favorite part about this is that the plates and flatware are disposable. That’s right, folks! Disposable. I found the plates and flatware at Costco. They were my inspiration for the tablescape. I worked everything around them, because I did not want to do dishes on Christmas Day! I want to toss them away and be done with them. I can’t bring myself to use classic paper plates on Christmas Day, so these are perfect. I used foraged greens to make my wreath in the center of the table and to fill those adorable vessels from Hobby Lobby. The lantern was a thrift store find years ago when my husband and I were first married. The table runner and napkins were from the fabric section at Hobby Lobby. The place markers might be my favorite detail of this whole table. Anytime I see a silver bell, I am reminded of The Polar Express. I took these cute tags I found at the bottom of my gift wrapping tub and tied a silver bell to them. I used hand-frayed chiffon ribbon to attach the bell. Isn’t it stinking adorable? I just love it. It’s magical. Poppies and Peonies Design wishes you and yours a very Merry Christmas! If you like what you see, leave a comment below!
